The Students’ Union had a successful financial year in 2022/2023 achieving a surplus of £118k.
Any surpluses generated are reinvested back into facilities, support for student groups and activities and to making the Union sustainable for the long term.
With net current assets of £665,323 an increase of £149,826 on 2021/2022, the Students’ Union is in a stable financial position to support in carrying us through economic turbulence, however, the Union’s target is to have free reserves of £250k, equivalent to 50% of the full net annual costs (expenditure not funded by the block grant).
Through continuing sound financial management and efficient management of funds, the Students’ Union is committed to making investments in facilities and the quality of the experience of our volunteers and customers.
