Your Students’ Union
Here at NSU, our mission is to ‘have a positive impact on the lives of all our students’ and we do this in a multitude of ways. Throughout 2023 we worked hard to enhance your university experience by running various campaigns to ensure you felt supported, made sure Union staff and Sabbatical Officers were on hand to connect and work with you as well as capturing feedback through multiple GOAL days and Student Engagement Forums to better understand students’ needs.
Cost of Living Crisis
In collaboration with the University, we launched The Breakfast Club campaign providing students with free breakfast items and breakfast bars as part of the cost-of-living crisis.
We have continued to support students through providing food via our student foodbank, offering free sanitary products in our buildings and across campus, as well signposting to students where they can find further help or offering advice on how they can make a change
The Sabb team sent a letter out to local MPs in the area around the cost of living, and have arranged meetings with the MPs surrounding these issues.
Satellite Campuses
NSU is here to support all Northumbria students whether based in Newcastle or not. Gopal and Kishore Reddy from our SABB Team visit London each term and Liv and Nerius take the lead on all things Amsterdam.
7 students on London Campus benefited from our Student Foodbank
We ran multiple student socials for London Campus students including a visit to Winter Wonderland to help students socialise
Amsterdam students enjoyed student socials to socialise with other students including a boat cruise.
